Register now to join Oakhaven Hospice’s 14th annual Santa Dash around Lymington

SANTAS will be dashing through the snow (or perhaps rain) for Oakhaven Hospice’s 14th sponsored festive dash around Lymington.

Anyone who fancies themselves a fast Father Christmas is invited to register now to join in the Santa and Festive Friends Fun Run on Sunday, 3rd December.

An Oakhaven spokesperson said: “Known by many as the unofficial start of Christmas, the Santa and Festive Friends Fun Run is a fantastic opportunity to gather together with friends, family and colleagues for a run, jog, walk, stroll or even scoot around the streets of Lymington. Although some might be speeding to win, many others ‘dash’ far more sedately.”

The spokesperson added that ticket prices have been reduced this year “recognising everyone's increased pressures with the cost of living”. Tickets are £12.50 for adults and £5 per child. There is also a family ticket (two adults and two children) for £30. Register today at oakhavenhospice.co.uk/santa-dash

Regular Santa Dash supporters are encouraged to wear any Santa suits they may have from previous years - and encourage anyone who would prefer to wear fancy dress as a different festive character to do so.

Oakhaven invites all elves, snowmen, reindeer, Christmas puddings, crackers and fairies to take part as well. Decorated pushchairs and buggies are also welcome, as are mobility scooters. Dogs must be on short leads and can also be in fancy dress.

Oakhaven has a limited stock of Santa suits from previous years, available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The sooner you register your entry, the more likely you are to receive a suit in your size.

Past Santa dashes have raised a total of £168,000 for the hospice charity.

People are also invited to join Oakhaven’s ‘Light up a Life’ services at 6.30pm on Monday 4th December in Hythe, and at 3pm and 6pm on Monday 11th December in Lymington. Each service will include special readings, carols and a shared moment for reflection. Full details can be found at oakhavenhospice.co.uk/light-up-a-life
