South Western Railway users warned of service cuts

RAIL users have been warned of major reductions in train services next week due to industrial action and engineering work.

All stations in the New Forest and Christchurch will be closed during strike action on Tuesday, and services are also affected across the network for the rest of the week.

On bank holiday Monday a revised service will operate across its network because of an overtime ban by train drivers’ union Aslef, while engineering work will close lines including in the Salisbury and Winchester areas.

Large parts of the network will be closed on Tuesday due to Aslef strike action, and from Wednesday to Saturday the overtime ban will again mean a revised service, with engineering work also affecting some services next Saturday.

Customers are advised to check their journeys before travelling between Monday and Saturday 6th to 11th May.
