Signal fault causing rail disruption for commuters between New Milton and Brockenhurst





RAIL commuters are facing disruption this morning (Friday) after a signal fault between New Milton and Brockenhurst.

Reporting the problem around 7.45am, South Western Railway warned trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised while having to run at reduced speed on the line towards Southampton.

Services were expected to be affected until 2pm.

Ticket holders can travel on Morebus services X1 and X2 between Lymington and Bournemouth; 120 between New Milton and Lymington; 119 between New Milton and Lymington; 1A, 1B and 1C between Bournemouth and Christchurch; 33 between Bournemouth and Christchurch; and M1, M2, 16 and 17 between Bournemouth and Poole.

They can also use First Bus routes X54 between Poole and Weymouth; and 10 between Weymouth and Dorchester, as well as Bluestar routes 6 between Southampton and Lymington; and 8, 9, 11 and 12 between Southampton and Totton.

An SWR spokesperson said: “For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
