Rail disruption continuing as train fault suspends South Western Railway services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier




RAIL disruption caused by a fault on a train is continuing this afternoon, with suspended services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier.

The issue arose around 7am, and South Western Railway warned services could be cancelled, delayed or revised, with normal service now expected to resume after 4pm.

Ticket holders can use the Bluestar 6 bus service between Southampton Central and Lymington Town.

Those preferring to continue their journey on local buses can check traveline.info but rail tickets are not valid on these unless stated above.

An SWR spokesperson said: “We have been informed that a train has developed a fault between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier.

“The train crew are in contact with our fleet maintenance team who are investigating and working towards fixing the fault.

“Unfortunately services running between these stations will be suspended until further notice.”

Passengers requiring further information or onward travel advice are asked to speak to a staff member or use a station help point.

The spokesperson added: “We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
