Signal fault at Brockenhurst causing travel disruption for South Western Railway passengers





A SIGNAL fault at Brockenhurst earlier this morning (Thursday) is causing continued disruption to rail users.

South Western Railway first reported the issue around 5.20am, saying all line were blocked and trains could be cancelled or revised.

Announcing lines had been reopened about an hour later after the points problem, SWR said hold-ups were expected to continue until 10.30am.

Passengers were warned some services through Brockenhurst may still be delayed, cancelled or revised.

SWR ticket holders can travel on the Bluestar bus 6 from Southampton Central to Lymington station at no extra cost.

Those who prefer to use other local buses to continue their journey can check traveline.info but they are warned SWR tickets are not valid on those

An SWR spokesperson said: “For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
