THE owner of a popular farm attraction near Ashurst has warned locals to be “extra vigilant” after metal dog kennels were stolen from the site.

Thieves struck at Longdown Activity Farm, in Deerleap Lane, in the early hours of last Thursday, unbolting a unit of three kennels worth £2,500 from the concrete base before discarding the roof in the car park.

They were used for people to house their dogs during visits. Shocked Bryan Pass, who has run the farm since 1983, broke the news on its Facebook page.

He said: “With the help of good old social media, some very vigilant neighbours and footage from our CCTV, we are following several lines of enquiry and hopefully our property will be returned back to its rightful place.

“Please be aware that this type of criminal activity is currently taking place and be extra vigilant to protect your own property and home.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire police confirmed it had received a report that at around 12.30am on 2nd July a set of dog kennels were stolen from the farm. Anyone with information should call 101 with reference 44200243911.
