A similar incident was reported at a nearby farm around the same time.

Posting on Facebook, local officers said: “We are fully aware of the impact that crimes such as these can have on residents, and the wider local community; especially if items are stolen which impact on their livelihoods.

“Our local neighbourhood policing teams continue to review every crime which is reported to us and follow-up on all reasonable lines of enquiry including reviewing available CCTV, cameras on residential properties and conducting house-to-house enquiries; with a view to identifying those responsible for these crimes and bringing them to justice.”

The post sought to remind people to heed advice to help avoid falling victim to such crimes.

This includes locking sheds or garages every evening, ensuring a reliable and robust lock is in place to deter any would-be burglars.

Valuable possessions should also be marked with a property or police-approved forensic solution only visible under ultraviolet light, with details such as serial numbers for electronic goods recorded online at www.immobilise.com

Victims and those who witness any suspicious activity should contact officers on 101 or use the online reporting portal at https://bit.ly/3c0GLlg while 999 should always be dialled in an emergency.
