Poppy appeal organiser and volunteers needed for Ringwood and New Forest

THE Royal British Legion is appealing for new volunteers and an area organiser to help run its annual poppy appeal in the New Forest area.

The role is to raise vital funds to help armed forces veterans, current serving personnel and their families.

This year’s Remembrance poppy has been given a make-over and will be completely plastic-free and easily recycled, to be sold alongside stock of the original poppy.

Julie Lax, RBL community fundraiser in Hampshire South & IOW, says: “We would encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering for the poppy appeal in Hampshire to get in touch with us to find out more.

“If you are looking for a more active part in the appeal, we would love to have you as the poppy appeal organiser for the Ringwood and New Forest area. This role is crucial to delivering the appeal and includes distributing poppy boxes, organising a team of dedicated volunteers, and counting money.”

She said the role could be perfect for someone well organised and capable of leading a small team.
