A PONY and a donkey had to be put down following two crashes involving New Forest livestock reported over the past three weeks.
There was a call-out at 10.05am on Saturday 23rd December to an injured bay filly on Janesmoor Plain Road, Fritham, where it was euthanised by agister Robert Maton.
Mr Maton also destroyed an injured jenny donkey, which had been wearing a reflective collar, after being called to Sway Road, Brockenhurst, at 6.40am last Thursday.
A pony was said to have been involved in a collision between Latchmoor House and Filly Inn on the B3055 at 5.10pm on 20th December, but Mr Maton found nothing on arrival.
No incidents involving livestock were reported for the week beginning 25th December.
