Police officer from Lymington suspended over alleged sexual assault while on duty
A POLICE officer from Lymington has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman while he was on duty.
Liam Porter (40), who works for Hampshire Constabulary, is accused of committing the offence in Clanfield near Portsmouth on 18th January.
Porter, who is now suspended from duty, will stand trial at Isleworth Crown Court on 4th December 2023.
The court heard Porter is accused of "intentionally" touching a woman without her consent.
Porter was released on bail on condition he does not contact the alleged victim.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed in a statement that Porter faces a single charge of sexual assault and that the offence is "alleged to have occurred while the officer was on duty".
Porter previously appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court where he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address and to enter a not guilty plea.
