Police hunt suspect after woman (80) has purse snatched at launderette

CCTV images of a man suspected of stealing an elderly woman’s purse from a laundrette in Highcliffe have been released by police.

The man entered the premises on the corner of Lymington Road and Waterford Road at 9am on Sunday March 24th where he took the purse belonging to a woman in her eighties.

The man is described as middle aged, with dark receding hair and was unshaven. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket, dark trousers and black and white trainers.

He was carrying a black and grey backpack and a large bottle of Coca Cola. His victim is said to live locally.

PC Jan Steele of Dorset Police said: “Following enquiries I am now in a position to issue CCTV images of the suspect and I would ask anyone who recognises this man to please come forward.”
