Police alerted after pupil found with knife at Foxhills Junior School in Ashurst

POLICE were alerted after a pupil reportedly brought a knife into a junior school.

The incident took place at Foxhills Junior School on Foxhills Lane, Ashurst, last Thursday.

No details as to the child’s age and gender, or the type of knife involved, were available.

A Hampshire force spokesperson told the A&T: “We received a report last Thursday (6th February) that a primary school-aged child had been in possession of a knife at the location described.

“Officers have been carrying out enquiries since the report was made to us, as well as liaising closely with the school to explore what further proportionate action needs to be taken.”

It is understood headteacher Lucy Howe sent an email to parents in a bid to reassure them after the incident.

Mrs Howe declined to comment when contacted by the A&T.
