Flats plan for 'eyesore' Totton building on Salisbury Road refused by NFDC

PLANS to demolish an "eyesore" building in Totton and replace it with seven new flats have been turned down by New Forest District Council.

Mr and Mrs Clark applied to demolish 212 Salisbury Road, a former shop which was later turned into two apartments.

They wanted to build a three-storey scheme consisting of two two-bedroom and five one-bedroom apartments for sale on the open market.

NFDC refused the application on the grounds it was out of character for the area and would cause overshadowing to a neighbour.
