The land is allocated in the New Forest District Council’s Local Plan for a minimum of 185 dwellings.

If approved, the properties built would be a mixture of one and two-bedroom flats as well as two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.

Of those, 27 would be earmarked as affordable, split between social rent and shared ownership.

Documents submitted to the council state the development would have a “village street” feel with properties facing onto green spaces.

It adds: “Every property is in sight of green space, many plots have green space to the front of the property, directly or across streets, some to the side of the rear of the plot, or a short distance across shared surface spaces.

“The proposals offer 50% affordable across the site, meeting the local authority target for strategic sites and increasing housing provision in the local area by 27 units.”

So far there have been no comments on the plans. Consultation ends on 14th October, after which NFDC will make its decision.
