Applicant Sean Wilson told New Forest District Council the new dwellings would be "acceptable" in this area of town because it already has a "mix of dwelling types and styles".

But planners rejected the application to build the new homes, saying the proposed properties would be "incongruous and out of keeping" with the area's character.
