Police release photo of man in renewed appeal after attempt to snatch child’s bike on Whitehayes Road in Burton
POLICE have released a photo of a man they want to find as they continue investigating an attempt to snatch a child’s bicycle at Burton.
The 12-year-old victim was grabbed by his assailant in the failed theft, which happened on Whitehayes Road around 7.30pm on Thursday 30th May.
As reported in the A&T, a man approached the youngster and grabbed him by his clothes in a bid to pull him off his bike.
But when the boy alerted his father nearby, the suspect fled the scene.
Renewing the appeal for information, PC Paul Humber said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would again urge any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.
“I am also now in a position to issue an image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our investigation and would ask anyone who recognises him to get in touch.”
The suspect was previously described as white, in his 30s, around 5ft 9in tall, with short shaved hair and a blond beard.
He was wearing a black jacket with red writing on the back, black baggy trousers and black trainers.
