Shoplifter Robert Jones banned from stores in Holbury, Hythe and Blackfield after stealing hundreds of pounds of goods

A PERSISTENT Holbury shoplifter who stole hundreds of pounds of goods was banned from four stores.

Robert Jones (32), of Studley Avenue, admitted seven thefts of items ranging from meat and alcohol to over £100 of football stickers from shops in May and June, when he appeared before Southampton magistrates.

The Bench heard the offences were committed during two community orders imposed for nine previous thefts and two assaults.

As well as being told to pay a total nearly £310 compensation, Jones was handed a fresh 12-month community order with an electronically monitored exclusion from stores in Holbury, Hythe and Blackfield. Drug rehabilitation was also included.
