Pensioner in life-threatening condition after medical episode at Morrisons in Spruce Drive, Totton
A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition after suffering a medical episode in a New Forest supermarket.
The incident at Morrisons in Spruce Drive, Totton, happened this morning (Wednesday) at around 7.45am.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed to the A&T it had attended a “serious medical incident”.
It added: “Following initial treatment at the scene the patient, a male in his 70s, was taken to University Hospital Southampton in a life-threatening condition by road.”
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, carrying a doctor and specialist paramedic, also attended the scene, along with Hampshire police.
A spokesperson told the A&T: “Following treatment on scene, a patient was taken to hospital for further treatment via road ambulance, with the air ambulance team travelling with the patient.”
