Pennyfarthing flats at historic former George Inn in New Milton go on sale

FLATS at a historic former pub in New Milton are now being offered.

Developer Pennyfarthing Homes has turned the old George Inn into eight apartments and a pair of semi-detached coach houses.

Dating back to 1905, the pub was converted into offices in 1999 before being put up for sale in 2020. Pennyfarthing Homes says it has “sympathetically” refurbished the building.

The company says it has breathed “new life into fabric and giving local people the opportunity to live in a stunning location in the area”.

Milton Heritage Society congratulated Pennyfarthing for “giving the building its third life” as homes.

The society’s Nick Saunders said: “We are delighted to see this important historic building retained as it’s a landmark feature.

“It’s a really positive story for New Milton that Pennyfarthing Homes have decided to refurbish and convert the building into lovely homes for people to live in.”

Pennyfarthing sales and marketing director Sheetal Smith said: “We have received considerable interest from locals looking to reserve at The George before they are finished.

“This opportunity to live in an apartment or coach house in the centre of New Milton does not come up very often.”
