Pennington man Ryan Wingate given suspended prison sentence over carrying knife in Priestlands Road

A PENNINGTON man caught carrying a knife in a street was handed a suspended prison sentence.

Ryan Wingate (36), of Hillside Road, had denied having a blade in Priestlands Road on 30th May 2021 but was found guilty by magistrates.

The Southampton Bench imposed the 26-week term, suspended for 18 months, as this was his second blade offence.

Wingate was told to undergo drug and other rehabilitation activities. He was also fined £50.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to bail at the court on 13th April.
