Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run on Station Road, New Milton
A PEDESTRIAN was badly hurt in a hit-and-run in New Milton town centre in the early hours.
Paramedic teams, including the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance, responded along with police to the collision which happened on Station Road around 12.30am yesterday (Sunday).
The helicopter landed on the nearby recreation ground, with an on-board doctor and paramedic.
They helped treat the casualty, a 40-year-old woman who had suffered what police described as serious injuries.
She was then taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Officers have launched an investigation into the incident, and have asked for witnesses in a bid to find the driver.
A Hampshire force spokesperson said: “Police were called at 12.29am on the morning of Sunday 3rd November to reports of a collision on Station Road, New Milton.
“The collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The vehicle did not stop at the scene.
“The pedestrian, a 40-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries.”
