Passengers ‘spattered with blood’ in fight on Morebus X2 service at Pennington
Passengers were “spattered with blood” during a fight on a bus in Pennington this morning (Tuesday).
Police were called over the incident, around 7.40am, in which a man reportedly boarded the Morebus X2 service and punched another passenger in the face before leaving the vehicle.
One passenger on the bus, who did not want to be named, told the A&T: “I got on the bus and there was a chap sat at the back, and another one came onto the bus and sat down; the other guy’s just punched him in the face.
“There was blood all over me, and four or five other people, it was all over the bus.”
She said the bus was packed with commuters, including young children who watched the incident.
“The kids were crying, they were traumatised.”
The passenger added: “The lad that was hit had to be picked up in New Milton by his dad, he had a nasty cut on his eye and he couldn’t see out of it for a while.
“The bus was covered [in blood], I’m not exaggerating, it was all over the floor. People were getting on after it happened and they couldn’t sit at the back.”
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “We received a report of an altercation on the X2 Lymington to Bournemouth bus at about 7.45am this morning.
“It was reported that there was an altercation between two men in their 20s. We have received no reports of any injuries.”
Gary Rose, Morebus operations manager for Lymington and Ringwood, said: “We are aware of an incident that took place on our X2 service this morning.
“At present the full circumstances are unclear, and we are carrying out an investigation.”
