Southern Water confirms closure of A35 eastbound carriageway at Redbridge flyover

A main route linking the New Forest with Southampton is set to close tonight (Monday) for emergency work.

Southern Water has confirmed the eastbound carriageway of the A35 Redbridge flyover will shut at 10pm to carry out planned work to find and fix a leak.

The work had been due to take place on Sunday evening, but was postponed due to “an unforeseen operational issue”.

A Southern Water spokesperson said: “We remain committed to finding and fixing this leak and we will be back on site tonight from 10pm into Tuesday morning, which will involve closing the flyover eastbound.

“We expect this work to last a number of days and we will provide a further update on Tuesday morning.”
