TWO people have been rearrested in connection with the death of a one-month-old baby which was found “seriously unwell” in Hythe in last year.

As reported in the A&T, the baby boy, one of twins, died in Southampton General Hospital on 6th February last year after the ambulance service was called to a flat in Knightwood Road four days earlier.

Following the incident, Hampshire Constabulary arrested a man and a woman from Hythe on suspicion of attempted murder. They were questioned by officers and then released on bail pending further enquiries.

The pair were rearrested on suspicion of murder in August last year and also released on bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokesperson confirmed today (Tuesday) that a 26-year-old woman was re-arrested on suspicion of murder and a 42-year-old man on suspicion of allowing the death of a child. Both remain in custody.
