Pair arrested over alleged outbuilding burglary in Copythorne




Two men were arrested after an outbuilding near Copythorne was broken into and attempts made to pull out pipework and copper wiring.

The burglary was discovered when the owner arrived at the premises between Barrow Hill Road and Winsor Road in Winsor just before 6.20pm on Saturday, having been notified their CCTV was offline.

They located two suspects at the scene, where significant damage was said to have been caused to the property in a bid to snatch the pipework and wiring.

Responding to a call-out, officers found two men nearby.

They arrested a 28-year-old man from Pennington on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.

A 33-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal, handing stolen goods and possessing a class A drug.

Both were released on conditional bail until 29th October, pending further enquiries.
