Owner sets red letter day for reopening of village post office
IT will be a red letter day for Sway post office when it reopens at a new location with longer hours.
It will be located in the Central Convenience store on Station Road, and will open for business on Monday 2nd December at 1pm.
The former branch was closed in March due to the resignation of the postmistress and withdrawal of the premises which was not owned by Post Office Ltd.
With its operating hours extended to seven days a week from 6am–9pm, the new facility will boast 57 more hours service a week than the previous branch.
It will include all-day Sunday, Saturday afternoons and significantly earlier/later opening and closing times.
Customers will be offered a wide range of services from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items, as well as banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.
Dean Morris, Post Office multiples account executive, said: “We are delighted to be able to restore the post office service to Sway with very convenient opening hours.”
