Owner of knifed horse offers £1,000 reward in hunt for killer
THE devastated owner of a horse that was found stabbed to death in a field has offered a £1,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of the killer.
The 13-year-old blagdon mare called Wildwood Sunflower was found dead in its enclosure on Walkford Lane, between Walkford and New Milton on Tuesday morning.
It had been stabbed in the chest.
The owner, who lives locally, told the A&T: “We are offering a £1,000 reward for any information that leads to a conviction.
“Someone somewhere knows something, and all information will be treated with the strictest confidence so please come forward if you know any details about what happened to our beautiful girl.”
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Anyone with any information on this horrific incident please contact 101 quoting 44190350493.”
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “It’s absolutely shocking that someone would do something like this. How awful for the poor horse, and the owner.
“We’d encourage anyone with any information, or anyone who saw anything that might help to find who is responsible, to contact the police to help with their investigation.”
