Casualty hospitalised in tipper truck fire on A31 near Minstead

ONE person was hospitalised as firefighters battled a blaze which gutted a tipper truck’s cab, partially blocking a stretch of the A31 near Minstead for two hours.

The alarm was raised shortly before 11am Friday, with multiple calls reporting the vehicle was alight on the westbound carriageway between Stoney Cross and Picket Post.

Crews from Redbridge, Romsey and St Mary’s responded to find flames had spread to a stretch of grass alongside the dual carriageway.
