The Saltwater Sauna launches Nordic cabins on Avon Beach in Christchurch
Two Nordic sauna cabins have arrived at Avon Beach launched by the company behind one at Sandbanks.
Saltwater Sauna is expanding its business to the Christchurch beach – and the first week is already full booked.
Customers can choose between private or communal sauna packages in two contemporary Nordic saunas with spacious changing rooms. There are also optional sea dips and a drinking water tap.
Co-founder of Saltwater Sauna, Arlene Glyn-Jones, said: “Our new facility at Avon Beach allows clients to connect with nature while reaping the bountiful benefits of contrast therapy.
“Customers are welcome to join us for breathtaking views, golden sunrises and sunsets, crisp autumn and winter mornings, moody skies, and stormy weather-fronts, all from the comfort of our award-winning beach-side saunas.”
A 60-minute private sauna costs £65, while a communal one of the same length costs £15.
Jane Witt, resident sauna master and contrast therapist at the company, said: “Our expansion enables us to fully commit to our ethos of giving back to the communities, building on the work we've done with therapy organisation Resurface and charity The Above and Beyond Trust.
“Our saunas have proven to be a valuable community space for people, and we look forward to working with medical organisations to offer social prescribing – helping people with their physical and mental wellbeing through contrast therapy.”
Earlier this year, The Saltwater Sauna won two awards at the UK Sauna Industry Awards: Jane was awarded Sauna Practitioner of the Year and a Best Design accolade was presented. to the firm.
Next year the company is hosting a Wellbeing Retreat in Helsinki where 14 customers will travel to the world’s sauna capital in the depth of the Finnish winter.
