New Year’s Eve tractor run to hit New Forest roads

HUNDREDS of spectators are expected to line a 20-mile route of a New Year’s Eve tractor run through the New Forest.

The event, organised by Brockenhurst Young Farmers Club, is set to depart from New Park in Brockenhurst at 11am. The convey will then travel in the direction of Beaulieu passing Hatchet Pond at around 11.30am. The vehicles will then proceed to Lymington High Street by around noon and continue through Pennington village at 12.30pm.

The tractors will pass the Rising Sun pub at Bashley at around 1pm before arriving back in Brockenhurst village by about 1.30pm.

It is anticipated that more than 100 tractors, 4x4s and agricultural vehicles will join the parade.

Now in its fourth year, the annual tractor run raises money for local good causes and charities. Last year it raised over £2,500 which was divided between the Farm Safety Foundation and a project to refurbish the Brockenhurst Young Farmers Headquarter in Tiptoe. This year money from the event will be donated to Minstead Trust.
