Music and chat stage announced for 2025 New Forest Show
THE New Forest and Hampshire Country Show returns next month with a mix of family fun, agricultural attractions and livestock contests.
New this year is a music and chat stage featuring talks from a variety of experts covering topics such as health and wellbeing in farming and gardening.
Horticulturalist, author, and television presenter David Domoney will discuss amazing plants with superpowers, alongside gardener and TV personality Charlie Dimmock. Talks are supported by Brighterway, the charity for NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Foundation Trust.
New Forest Show chief executive Denis Dooley said: “We’re thrilled to unveil the chat and music stage – this new addition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to interact directly with experts, authors, and personalities from the agricultural, horticultural, and rural sectors.”
Elsewhere at the three-day event the world-renowned TV and film riding team Atkinson Action Horses will be the headline show in the East Ring, led by Ben Atkinson. Other main ring highlights include the fast-paced Pony Club games, the grand parade of award-winning livestock, and the spellbinding Heavy Horse Musical Drive.
Culinary delights will take centre stage in the Local Produce Area with award-winning New Forest and Hampshire food, drink, and artisan goods. The area will also feature live cooking demonstrations from local chefs.
Family fun is guaranteed with a huge programme of children’s entertainment from Bonkers Bingo and a kids’ silent disco to rock climbing and fly fishing.
A New Forest Show spokesperson said: “There will be plenty of opportunities to learn and explore, with hands-on arts and crafts, cookery sessions, and interactive exhibits across the showground that make learning about countryside life and rural skills fun for all ages.”
Visitors can also explore traditional countryside life at the stunning flower and vegetable shows, step back in time to explore the evolution of farming, meet the New Forest Commoners, and watch the skilled Adams Axemen and Blacksmiths.
As one of the UK’s most prestigious equine events, this year’s will featuring over 2,000 horses and riders taking part in show jumping, heavy horse displays, and competitive classes.
