New music on the way from O2 showcase winner Carley Varley
A MUSICIAN from Milford has started work on a debut EP made up entirely of her own music.
Carley Varley (23) has began recording three newly written songs at Semi-Hollow Studios in Fareham for her upcoming playlist, Captured Memories.
After performing many local gigs covering other artists’ music, she was encouraged by fans, friends and family to release her own.
Carley said: “This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time.
“My EP is about my life – situations I have been in and situations I’ve learnt from. It’s very personal.
“The title is Captured Memories because I love taking Polaroid photos, but also because I am writing about my own memories.”
Carley recently found national success when she took the title of showcase winner at the Open Mic UK grand final held at the O2 area in London.
She also performed a live acoustic set on Radio Wimborne last week with host Jason Dean.
She said: “Radio Wimborne was great! I got to sing three songs and chat with Jason about learning to sing from a young age at church.”
