Celebration to mark first anniversary of New Milton Men’s Shed’s purpose-built workshop at Fawcett’s Field

PEOPLE are invited to join the first anniversary celebrations of New Milton Men’s Shed’s purpose-built workshop.

Affectionately known as ‘the Shed’, the facility at Fawcett’s Field has hosted the charity which combats loneliness while contributing handmade items to the community, since its grand opening on 7th June 2024.

Since then, membership of the group – first launched in 2018 – has grown to nearly 120.

The milestone will be marked with a drop-in event at the venue on Friday 11th July from 11am to 1pm.

Guests can enjoy a coffee and a chat with members, and see the creativity and community spirit that defines the charity.

They will also receive a free raffle ticket, with the chance to win a one-of-a-kind handcrafted item made by members.

Chairman Mark Hughes said: “From a small group of volunteers in 2018 to a thriving, purpose-built workshop today, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.

“The Shed has made a real difference in the lives of our members, and we’re excited to share that with the wider community.”
