Jack Marsden of New Milton sentenced for ABH after attacking woman
A NEW Milton man has appeared in court after attacking a woman, leaving her with cuts, bruises and swelling to her head, face and ribs.
Jack Marsden (28), of Marryat Road, pleaded guilty to one count of ABH, which he committed on 27th June in the victim’s home.
Appearing at Southampton Crown Court for sentence, he was handed an 18-month community order, including undertaking the Building Better Relationships programme and up to five rehabilitation activity requirement sessions.
Marsden, who had been remanded in custody since his arrest, will also be supervised by probation for the 18-month term.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said nobody should be subjected to domestic abuse within a safe-space environment.
They added: “We understand that it is not always easy to report incidents of this nature to us, especially when you have to re-live any trauma faced at the hands of an abuser, but we encourage victims to come forward and report incidents to us.
“We are absolutely clear that we do not tolerate any form of domestic abuse or violence at all. Individuals who are intending to behave in this way and commit these offences will be found and will be stopped.”
The force is urging anyone who is being abused or knows of someone who is to report it online at hampshire.police.uk or by calling 101.
