Breaching a restraining order after just four days costs New Milton man Oliver Mayled £365 when he appears at Southampton Magistrates’ Court
BREACHING a restraining order just four days after it was imposed cost a New Milton man £365 when he appeared before magistrates.
Oliver Mayled (35), of Davis Field, pleaded guilty to committing the offence by walking in an area of the town, which was contrary to conditions in the order, on Sunday 2nd June.
The Southampton Bench heard the order had been made on Wednesday 29th May.
As well as being fined £200, Mayled was told to pay another £165 in court charges.
Acting Sgt Sam Chapman, of New Milton neighbourhood policing team, said afterwards: “Restraining orders are put in place for a reason, and that is to protect victims from further harm.
“Anyone who chooses to breach their restraining order will be dealt with accordingly and brought before the courts, as was the case here with Mayled.
“Mayled believed he could continue doing what he wanted, without any consequences, but that wasn’t the case, as he has now found out.”
