Care home worker Ben Phillips recognised for his “outstanding leadership” at New Milton’s CAS Care Solutions

A care home worker has been recognised for his “outstanding leadership” by becoming finalist in top industry awards.

Ben is training manager at CAS Care Solutions where director of the company Clarice Barrett calls him the “definition of leadership”.

He was enjoying a career as a chef, which included stints at Michelin starred restaurant Murano in Green Park, London, and the Chewton Glen.

But not enjoying the long hours demanded by the hospitality trade, Ben decided to make a career move.

He started at CAS in July 2020 and found his “true vocation”.

Rising to his present role Ben, says Clarice “combines his creativity, teaching skill, and deep empathy to inspire a new generation of carers”.

She said: “His training is hands-on, personal, and empowering – from bespoke care scenarios to sensory and cooking masterclasses that blend skill with heart.

“Ben’s influence reaches far beyond the classroom. He has been instrumental in shaping a culture of kindness, confidence, and professional growth at CAS, where staff feel supported and clients benefit from exceptional, person-centred care.”

His talents have now been rewarded by being selected as a finalist for Inspirational Leader of the Year at the Hampshire Care Association Awards, and shortlisted as a Social Value Leader in the Social Care Leadership Awards. I

In addition, CAS Care Solutions – with Ben leading its learning and development programme – reached the finals of the New Forest Business Partnership Awards for Training and Development.

Clarice said: “Through every challenge, Ben continues to prove that great leadership isn’t about titles – it’s about heart, humility, and the power to lift others up.”
