NFDC conducting Polling Districts and Places Review

FOREST voters are being urged to give their feedback on the district’s polling stations.

New Forest District Council wants residents’ comments as part of its Polling Districts and Places Review consultation.

The authority said the consultation gives residents a chance to provide “valuable feedback” on polling stations and suggest improvements.

A council spokesperson said: “The Polling Districts and Places Review aims to evaluate the suitability of existing polling stations with a focus on their geographical location, accessibility, and the facilities they provide.

“The consultation is open to all residents of the New Forest district, giving everyone a chance to have their say on how local voting facilities can be improved.”

They added: “NFDC is particularly focused on understanding and addressing the needs of residents with disabilities or mobility challenges. Ensuring that polling stations are fully accessible is a priority for the council, and resident feedback will play a vital role in identifying areas where improvements are needed.”

Residents are invited to share their comments and suggestions by 29th September at newforest.gov.uk/districtsandplacesreview2024

After the consultation ends, the feedback will be compiled in a report detailing any proposed changes, which will be presented at a full council meeting in December.
