LEARN MOREFIREFIGHTERS rushed to rescue a New Forest pony which took an unexpected plunge in a swimming pool.
The alarm was raised around 9.30pm last Friday, with reports the animal had fallen through a pool cover outside a property in Woodlands Road, Ashurst.
Fortunately, it was filled with only a foot of water.
Lyndhurst-based animal rescue specialists joined crews from Brockenhurst, Eastleigh and Redbridge as they “barrel rolled” the pony out using a glide and strops.
The animal was handed over to an agister following the rescue operation, which was helped by a vet.
