Hants Women’s Division 1: Trojans III 0-3 New Forest I

NEW FOREST Hockey Club’s ladies first team continued their winning form with a 3-0 victory away at Trojans.

The three points keeps second placed New Forest in the promotion hunt.

From the off, Forest piled on the pressure, with the opening goal coming within the first few minutes, Lauren Gavin pickpocketing the Trojans defence before playing a one-two with Jade Lock and then nutmegging the Trojans keeper to find the back of the goal.

Forest had the majority of possession, with youngsters Octavia Allan, Flossie Williams and Frankie Robertson working tirelessly up and down the wings. Great support play from midfielders Nicky Brooks and Rachel Lloyd kept the home side away from the Forest defensive line.

Trojans came out fighting in the second half with New Forest thankful to keeper Becky Snook who made several Ninja-like saves to maintain Forest’s advantage.

She was supported by secure defending and distribution from Maz Brewis and Beth Cammegh and last-ditch jab tackles from Sarah Biddlecombe, who celebrated her 50th birthday this week.

Forest continued to put pressure on Trojans with Lloyd finding the speedy Williams who then slipped the ball perfectly through to Lock who dodged the Trojans keeper before slotting the ball into the empty net.

Shortly after, Carrie Stott played the ball through ball to Gavin and she released strike partner Lock to score her second and Forest’s third.
