A NEW walk-through coronavirus test site has opened in Ringwood.

The facility, which is by appointment only, is at The Furlong car park and is offering tests to those displaying symptoms, however mild. Appointments can be booked online at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by ringing 119.

Hampshire County Council has said that while residents should leave home only for essential reasons during lockdown, these include being tested for Covid-19.

Symptoms include: a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

Testing is free and involves a swab of the nose and back of the throat, taking less than a minute to complete. Those who test positive will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace.
