New car park approved for AFC Totton’s Snows Stadium

Treble-winning AFC Totton have been given the green light for a new 75-space car park at their stadium.

The club, who this season won the Southern League Division One, Southampton Senior Cup and Southern League Champion vs Champion titles, were granted permission by New Forest District Council subject to conditions including installing electric vehicle charging.

Planning officers said the additional parking provision at Snows Stadium in Calmore was considered acceptable in principle as the land was not currently used as a formal playing pitch or recreation space but occasionally as a kickabout space for juniors when they are not using one of the formal playing pitches.

Totton & Eling Town Council had recommended permission, saying: “The creation of a parking area will improve visitor facilities and support existing businesses on site while alleviating existing parking on the nearby Industrial estate and surrounding residential roads, especially on match days.

“Highway improvements are proposed as part of the adjacent Aldi development; it is recommended these improvements are made, prior to the construction of the proposed parking area.”
