Extra police patrols after naked man seen at New Forest Golf Club in Lyndhurst

POLICE are conducting high-visibility patrols in Lyndhurst after a naked man was spotted walking around the golf course.

The incident happened at the New Forest Golf Club on Southampton Road at around midday on Friday.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary told the A&T: "It is reported that the man was seen walking along the fairway of a hole before turning back towards the wooded area which leads to open forest that runs alongside the A35.

"Officers have been carrying out initial enquires to identify the person whilst also undertaking proactive high-visibility patrols for community reassurance purposes."

Those with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

As previously reported in the A&T, last April police were called after reports of a naked man man wearing a mask near Bolton's Bench, off the B3056 Beaulieu Road in Lyndhurst.

Officers searched the area but did not find anyone matching the description.
