Mother’s ashes among contents of cases snatched from car parked outside the Queen’s Head pub in The Cross at Burley

A motorist had their mother’s ashes stolen when a car was raided at a New Forest pub.

The thief forced entry to the Mercedes via a rear passenger window while it was parked at the Queen’s Head in Burley’s The Cross between 7.25pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 6th December.

Two large luggage cases were stolen from inside, and the victim’s mother’s ashes were among their contents.

Appealing for witnesses, a police spokesperson said: “Please help us get them back to the victim.”

The cases also contained clothes and shoes, as well as a full bottle of perfume and a silver bracelet, each valued at £120, and a memory foam pillow.

The spokesperson continued: “We’d like to hear from anyone with any information which might assist in our investigation, including the current whereabouts of the cases and their contents.

“We’re also appealing to the public to please keep an eye out for any stolen items which may have since been discarded nearby.”

Those with any relevant video footage via CCTV, doorbell camera, mobile phone or dash cam should also get in touch.
