Hampshire Police seek teenagers who subjected a mother and her 11-year-old child to racial abuse in Hythe
A MOTHER and her 11-year-old daughter were racially abused by a gang of teenagers who followed them through Hythe.
Hampshire Police said the pair were walking through Ewart Recreation Ground around 5.50pm last Tuesday (2nd August) when a gang of teenage boys and girls started pointing and laughing at them.
Having been on their way to play football together, they left the park and walked into Hythe but were followed from shop to shop by the youths, who shouted racist abuse at them.
Hampshire Police said the main offender is a white girl aged around 14, of average build and wearing black shorts and a black hoodie. She had long dark hair and was wearing white slip-on shoes.
The other two girls wanted by police are described as being aged 13 to 16, both white with long dark hair. One of them was of skinny build wearing a red dress and black Nike trainers. The other was wearing a grey hoodie and black trousers.
There were also five boys in the group, all of them white and aged between 13 and 16.
One of the boys was wearing a black jumper, black shorts and had short blond hair, while another had short dark hair and was wearing a white T-shirt, grey jumper worn over his shoulders and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The third boy had short blond hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and carrying a black backpack. Another was of stocky build with dark hair and wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt. The final boy had brown hair and was wearing a tan hoodie, black trousers and black trainers.
PC Rich Diggins said: “This was a distressing incident for the victims and I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have witnessed what happened.
“If you have any information about this incident or who you think may be involved, please contact us as soon as possible.”
