A MAN has revealed the “terror” he and his wife endured after being attacked outside their home by masked robbers who stole their watches.

The 54-year-old Hordle resident, who asked to remain anonymous, was parking his car on the driveway of his Stopples Lane home when the gang of four pounced shortly before 6.30pm yesterday (Thursday).

The balaclava-clad assailants punched the man in the face and continued to assault him while he was on the ground.

Others targeted his 47-year-old wife, punching her as well, he said. During the incident the gang took the couple’s watches and other personal items.

“I have to say it was pretty terrifying,” he told the A&T. “I didn’t even have time to see them. They just punched me straight in the face and were punching me in the face on the floor and making threats.

“They punched my wife while she was on the floor and she has a suspected broken jaw.”

She was rushed to hospital and underwent X-rays, but the extent of her injuries are yet to be determined.

Investigating police officers said the attackers left in a Honda Civic thought to have the registration number CE08 UAA or similar.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Officers deployed to the scene and conducted a search of the area and a team of detectives will continue the investigation today.

“No one has been arrested at this time. However, officers continue to scope CCTV and carry out house-to-house visits.”

DS Jamie Wiseman, from the western investigation team, said: “We will be in the area today carrying out a number of enquiries.

“We really want to hear from anyone who was in the Stopples Lane area last night who saw a vehicle matching this description, or drivers who may have dash cam footage of this car.”

Those with information is asked to call Hampshire police on 101 and quote 44200075102.
