Long Vo pleads guilty to cannabis production after police raid seizes around 200 plants at Blackfield home
A MAN faces court sentencing after a police raid found around 200 cannabis plants at a Blackfield home.
Officers from Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team, the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team and New Forest Priority Crime Team swooped on the New Road address on Monday.
This saw them seize the plants and arrest and later charge Long Vo (21) from Southampton.
Vo, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to producing a class B controlled drug and abstracting or using electricity without authority.
Appearing at the city’s magistrates’ court on Tuesday, he was remanded in custody to be sentenced at the crown court on 17th December.
Sgt Andy Gwyer, of the New Forest Priority Crime Team, who was involved in the raid, said it had followed information from the public.
He urged residents to keep updating officers on any suspected criminality on the Waterside.
“We will always look to tackle drug-related activity in our communities, but we can only do so with the support and information of those who live in the affected areas,” Sgt Gwyer said.
“As our eyes and ears on the ground, please continue to let us know about activity in the areas in which you live, so we can continue to be relentless in our pursuit of suspected criminals.
“The more information you share with us, the more we can develop this, and the more action we can take, including the execution of warrants and the targeting of suspected criminals causing the most harm to our communities."
Anyone with information about drug-related activity in their neighbourhood should get in touch online via hampshire.police.uk or call 101, but 999 should always be dialled in an emergency.
Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
