This came after police carried out a stop search of the vehicle he was driving at the junction of the A337 and A35 shortly before midnight on 23rd April.

As well as the jamming device, they discovered a walkie talkie, gloves, balaclavas; and a car diagnostic tool and key.

The Bench ruled only a custodial sentence could be justified as the offence was so serious.

Glynne was also ordered to forfeit the items for destruction.
