Man hospitalised after attack at Christchurch railway station
TWO teenagers were arrested after a man was hospitalised following an attack at Christchurch railway station.
Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward as they investigate the assault which took place last night (Tuesday).
The alarm was raised around 11.20pm, with reports the victim had been punched several times and knocked to the ground.
Officers arrested two 17-year-old boys in connection with the incident, and the casualty was still receiving treatment in hospital this morning.
Those who were in or around the station at the time of the attack are being sought.
Det. Sgt Mike Blakeburn said: “We believe that a number of people were in or around the station at the time.
“In particular, we believe there was another man in close proximity to the incident who could have vital information which may help us with our investigation.
“I’d like to appeal to him to come forward and help us with our enquiries.”
