Calmore man Harold Brown fined for breaching NFDC nuisance cockerel notice during Southampton Magistrates’ Court appearance

A CALMORE man who failed to prevent a cockerel from crowing has been found guilty of breaching a nuisance abatement notice.

Harold Brown (32), of Friars Croft, denied failing to comply with a notice to prevent the “recurrence or nuisance” of the bird crowing between 23rd July 2023 and 7th October this year.

During a hearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, lawyers heard the notice had been served under the 1990 Environmental Protection Act by New Forest District Council on 22nd December 2022.

Despite his denials, Brown was found guilty of breaching the order and fined £200. He was also ordered to pay £380 in court charges.
