Yusuf Muzil to appear in court today after fatal two-vehicle crash on A338 near Hurn




A MAN is due in court today (Monday) charged in connection with a two-vehicle crash on the A338 near Hurn that left another man dead.

The collision between a bronze Lexus and a silver Nissan Micra took place on the northbound carriageway around 9.25pm last Thursday.

As reported by the A&T, a 31-year-old man from Southampton was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin were informed and the coroner notified.

Two women, one in her 70s and the other in her 30s, were taken to hospital, with the pensioner in a critical condition and the other having suffered serious injuries.

One of three men arrested near the scene that day has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Yusuf Muzil (22), of Cricklewood in London, will face the charges before Poole magistrates.

The other two, a 28-year-old man from Hendon in London and a 30-year-old man from Hanwell, London, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, were bailed pending further enquiries.

Roads policing Sgt Dave Cotterill said: “The families of all those involved in this collision have been updated with this news and our thoughts very much remain with them all.

“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed this collision, or has any information that would assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dash cam footage.”
